With tears, we celebrate the life and the continuing journey in heaven of Amy H. Yates, who passed away on September 30, 2023 after suffering over 20 years with MS. She is survived by her husband Beau D Yates, her two daughters Eowyn and Alia, her parents Dennis and Becky Worthington of Ridgefield, Washington, her brother, Jason Worthington and his wife, Tricia and their daughters Holland, Savannah, Addison and Brooklyn of Lynnwood, Washington, her Great Aunt, Glenys Worthington and Aunts and Uncles David Jennings and Missy Whitmore, Don and Brenda Worthington, Jim and Carolyn Moore, Cathy Young, Dave and Carla Palmer.
Amy was born in Oxford, Mississippi on December 5,1976. She attended school in Austin,Tx , Martinez, Ga and graduated in1995. She then attended Southern Nazarene University where she graduated in 2000 with a Music Education degree. Beau and Amy were married in1999. She later received a massage therapy license in 2008. She became a fulltime mom in 2008 and was a devoted and loving mom of her two daughters until MS depleted her energy and muscle strength.
Amy was known for her smile, sweetness, her love of cats and her beautiful soprano voice, which she used for God's glory in her various college and church choirs. She loved being with her Great Aunts and her Aunts and Uncles during family gatherings. Her times with her brother and his family were special, since Jason was her hero.
Amy will be missed, but we realize she is in a much better place with our Lord.
Her memorial service will be held on November10, 2023 at Footprints Nazarene Church (formerly Pleasant View) at 11:00.
