David Willard Hein

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David W. Hein, 83, on December 10, 2024 in Battle Ground, WA. Dave was born on October 3, 1941 in Denver, CO, to Robert and Harriett Hein. 

In 1961, Dave married Naomi R. Bard and they were married 63 years. Together, they had 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Survivors include Naomi Hein, his spouse, Battle Ground, Nathaniel Hein, son, Cotopaxi, CO, Rachel Huffman, daughter, Tigard, OR, Andrew Hein, son, Battle Ground, WA, Heidi Niagado, daughter, Spring, TX, Philip Hein, brother, Johnstown, CO, Carol Jerger, sister, Gering, NE and Kathleen Rich, Olathe, CO. Dave was a devoted spouse, parent, brother, and grandfather, always putting his family first.

Dave graduated from Covenant College and Covenant Theological Seminary and worked as a pastor for 15 years. Dave was deeply committed to serving the Lord and most recently served as an elder both at Grace and Peace United Reformed Church. He was confident in the promises of Romans 8:38-39. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on December 28, 2024 at Grace United Reformed Church at 2800 SE Concord Rd, Portland, OR 97267. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ligonier Ministries at ligonier.org.
