Denise Marie Hertz

Denise Marie Goodwin was born to Bobbie and Robert Goodwin. She met her lifelong friend Christy at the tender age of 5 years old. She attended grade school at Leiser School in Vancouver, Washington. She then went onto Vancouver High School and graduated in June of 1979. Denise then went to beauty school where she met Holly, Liz, and many others that remained her friends for the rest of  her life. 

She met Andy in 1984. They were introduced by mutual friends. They didn’t ‘click’ at first, but they kept bumping into each other. They realized that there might be something to pursue. And so they did. They were married May 30, 1987. Andy’s family took to Denise with zeal, with one of mom’s favorite sayings “There is always room for one more”. 

After years of trying for a child, they decided to adopt. They ended up going through an international adoption agency. 16 months later they were on a flight to China to get their beautiful daughter, Cylena. The trials and tribulations of raising a child ensued as all families experience. The tremendous love that parents have for their children saw them through teenage antics and Cylena’s young adulthood. Soon their first grandson arrived and the family legacy moved to the next generation. 

Denise lost her battle from complications due to kidney failure April 2, 2024, with her family by her side.
