Ernest Dewey Pettit
5-10-1929 to 8-14-2024
He was born in Cheyenne County KS, in a sod house to parents Ernest and Emma Pettit. He was the third of nine children. His family moved to Little Kalama, Washington, which is east of Woodland, when he was four. He was drafted into the army in his early twenties, where he served on the frontlines for a year during the Korean War.
He returned home and married Mary Lou Mangus, who he was married to for 71 years. He and his wife Mary Lou has seven children together, six boys and one girl. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, five of his children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After 95 years of life and 71 years of marriage, the stories that he and you could tell are too many to count.
We will miss you, Ernest.
