Beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Jerry Lee Huston, 81, passed away on Thursday, June 6 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on March 6, 1943, in Woodland, Washington he was the fourth child of the late Fred and Hattie Huston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, our mother, Colleen Kay Huston.
He is survived by his three daughters Jackie Henson (Michael); Joan Huston (Shawn La Roy); and Gina McNeal (Tony). Grandchildren include Matthew, Kaytie (Brian), Taylor (Michael), Tessie (Trevor), Josh (Jobie), Hannah (Rj), McKenna (Makiaio) and Cameron. Great grandchildren are Megan, Brian, June, Benjamin, Evelyn, Colby, Lyanna, Liam, and another due in July. He is also survived by his second wife, Jean Carrico, who was his loving companion the last four years.
Jerry had a passion for fishing, gardening, and storytelling. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965, stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he held the rank of Petty Officer Third Class Culinary Specialist. His service made him a Vietnam veteran. Afterward, he enjoyed a long career, retiring from Longview Fibre in 2005 after 33 years of dedicated work.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ridgefield on Friday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. The Vigil will be Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church in Woodland.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to his nurse, Sarah, and the Kaiser Permanente NW Hospice Team for their exceptional care and support. Additionally, a special thank you goes to his two eldest grandchildren, Kaytie and Matt, for their unwavering dedication to their grandfather's care.
