On Saturday, February 3, 2024, Kimburly Scott Compson, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 72, peacefully at home.
Kim was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 30, 1951 to Jack and Dolores Compson. He graduated from Bishop Hartley High School in 1969 and Franklin University in 1973. Kim proudly served in the United States Air Force from May 4, 1973 to June 25, 1976. Kim then joined his parents and sister Lisa, in Vancouver, WA.
Kim and Faye were both avid square dancers before they even met, and they met at a square dance in the summer of 1982. They continued dancing in a local square dance club until 2012.
Kim worked as a computer circuit board technician and retired from Tektronix after 32 dedicated years. Kim loved watching John Wayne movies, building things, fishing, and people. The main reason he went fishing was because of the camaraderie with friends who went with him - catching and eating the fish was just a bonus!
Kim and Faye were deeply involved in church and have been members of Vista Community Church since 1997. Kim fought his battle with cancer, courageously and with unwavering faith in God.
Kim was preceded in death by his father, Jack and his mother, Dolores. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Faye, his four children, Amee (Dan) Gregory, Caryn (Ben) McNeil, Kelly Compson, Erik Compson, six grandchildren, Nicole Rutter, Gavin Gregory, Nathan Wright, Abigail Wright, Kaitlyn McNeil, Parker McNeil, sister Lisa (Craig) Wooley, nephews Jack Van Dolah and David Wooley, niece Krista (Ryan) Carney, and many more loving family members.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Vista Community Church, 20018 NE 22nd Ave, Ridgefield WA 98642 at 1pm. Kim will be buried with full military honors at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland OR.
