Lura Victoria Taylor

Lura “Toby” Victoria Taylor was born to Fay and Neil Gaylord on November 27, 1955, in Vancouver, Washington and went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2025. Her life was marked by faith, loyalty, and fervent love. She lived with a servant's heart, always finding ways to care for others.

Toby was a wonderful mother to her children who “rose up and called her blessed.” Married to “her prince” Ken for 49 years, she was a devoted wife. When she met him in March of 1975, she was totally “smitten.”

One year later, Ken brought her “to the foot of the cross,” as she would say, and she gave her life to Christ. By her life, she led her children and countless others to the truth of Christ’s redeeming work on the cross. Her grandchildren, whom she cherished, will remember her as their loving “Ninny.”

Toby is survived by her loving husband Ken; children Dave and Dani, Daniel and Lindsey, Hannah, and Genevieve and Brad as well as twelve grandchildren: Josiah “Boo”, Zach, and Luke (Dave), Natalie, Rachel, and David (Daniel), Elliana “EGB” and Felicity (Hannah), Zooey, Penelope “P-June”, Neil, and Winston (Genevieve).

Thank you, Mom, for all you did and most importantly, for leading us “to the foot of the cross.” She signed every message with I.H.M.G. — In His Matchless Grace — and lived every day with her lamp oil full, faithfully anticipating the Lord’s return.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Hazen Chapel, 38813 NE 119th Ave, Amboy, WA 98601.

A reception will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Amboy Grange, 40107 NE 221st Ave, Amboy, WA 98601.
