We gather to commemorate the peaceful passing of Mildred "Irene" (Matson) Olin. She was born to Ed and Mildred Matson on October 9, 1942 on their family farm in Brush Prairie, WA. She lived her childhood, much loved, met and married her childhood sweetheart Ron Olin.
Two days before her 82nd Birthday, she went to meet her Beloved Savior, as her family joined one another in love, support, celebration and great sorrow. Irene loved Jesus and was greatly gifted in hospitality. She lived from a place of Light and Love, near to the Heart of God. She loved to laugh! As many of us know, her laughter is and was infectious! Even on a cloudy day she brought SonShine to the hearts of her family. Irene considered everyone family. She saw each individual as a wonderful creation of God.
Irene and Ron raised their 6 children on a farm in Lyle, Washington, where she was an amazing wife and mother, friend and neighbor. She fully embraced life and was known by her gifts of encouragement, flowers, books, Bibles, bread and much more! She loved to sing and worship and share God's love with others through encouragement, gifts and prayer. We know her as a woman of great faith. Irene together with her faithful, devoted husband Ron, lived a full and adventurous life, even in spite of health challenges. She never complained, yet drew strength from God through suffering.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved parents, sister Clara, granddaughters Christy and Emily, and many loved ones. Irene leaves to the loving care of her Heavenly Father, the many loved, cherished family members and friends, who have been bathed in prayer and blessing, through hours, days and years of intercession: Coreen and Al Wanke, Mindy and Matt Seppala , Gordy and Naomi Olin, Karen and Clinton Callaway, Ivan and Sara Olin, Dean and Sandra Olin, honorable mention of unofficially "adopted" nephew David and wife Candace Rak-Kinonen. Irene loved from her heart, each one of her 32 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Virgina Kinonen, John and Dolly Matson, Roy and Jan Matson, Edna Mattila, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
