Rick was born May 20th, 1959 in Vancouver, Washington. The 2nd child of Nick and Arpa Martell. He grew up in Orchards on the family's small farm next to his grandparents dairy farm. It was then that he developed his strong work ethic.
As a child he was involved in 4H, playing baseball, and riding dirt bikes. He attended Evergreen High School and at 16 he moved to L.A. and became a shoe salesman. Then at 17 he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. After the Army he returned home to Vancouver where he worked at Alcoa for a short time. Then for a couple years he went into dairy farming. Shortly after the birth of his daughter, Danielle in 1981, he moved to the Seattle area to hang drywall. After more than a decade he came back to Clark County where he continued the trade along with metal stud framing, which he did until he had to stop working due to health issues.
Rick was kind, honest, and hardworking. He loved to laugh and tell stories about the crazy things he did as a young man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Nickiee Breimon, and niece, Elizabeth Smith. He leaves behind his sister Michelle Martell, brother Eric Martell, daughter Danielle Martell, granddaughter Lexus Manker, grandson Greyson Manker, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
