Sherry Lynn Couture (Modrall) passed away on February 17, 2025, in Battle Ground, Washington. Born on November 15, 1971, in Vancouver, Washington, Sherry lived a life filled with love, devotion, and passion for the things that mattered most to her.
A proud graduate of Prairie High School’s Class of 1990, Sherry earned honors and carried that dedication into every aspect of her life. Her love for horses began in childhood and remained a lifelong passion—one she joyfully shared with her children and grandchildren. Whether attending her grandchildren's equestrian events or simply fostering an appreciation for animals and the outdoors, Sherry found immense fulfillment in passing down this cherished tradition.
Family was at the heart of everything Sherry did. She was a devoted spouse to Jacob Couture of Battle Ground, Washington; a loving child to Charlotte Modrall of Ariel, Washington; and a caring sibling to Kimberly Green and her husband Danny of Kalama, Washington. As a parent, Sherry took great pride in her daughters: Selina Ayers of Battle Ground, Washington and Hannah Benz as well as her husband Ethan of Vancouver, Washington. Her role as a grandparent brought her immeasurable joy as she doted on Raelynn, Kailei, and Jameson Ayers of Battle Ground and Maddison Benz of Vancouver. Sherry also held a special place in her heart for her nephews Alexander Green and Mitchell Green of Kalama. She is preceded in death by her father, Gail Modrall of Battle Ground.
Sherry embraced life’s adventures with enthusiasm. She loved camping beneath the stars, feeling the ocean breeze along the shorelines she adored so much, and recently discovered a new passion for archery alongside Jacob—a hobby they eagerly pursued together. Above all else, faith was an integral part of Sherry’s life; her love for the Lord guided her through every journey she embarked upon.
A funeral service will be held on March 27, 2025, at Summit View Church in Vancouver, Washington (11718 NW 31st Avenue), from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend as we honor and celebrate Sherry’s life.
Sherry’s memory will live on through the love she shared with family and friends. May her legacy bring comfort to those who knew her.
